We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to handle our Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Cooler products in our Austin, TX Corporate Office

A lot about the job

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the overall contractual relationships with our suppliers (OEM and Component) as well as be the control point for all INCO Terms, Purchasing Terms and Conditions, Payment Term Management and Improvement. This role is the owner of Total Cost Reduction, Supplier Score Carding, Master Data Accuracy and the accurate and timely daily entry and control of all purchase orders. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager supports the Advanced Sourcing process for new products.

CEO, Executive Team, Controller, Accounting, New Product Development, Advanced Sourcing, Manufacturing Partners, Component Suppliers, Quality and the Supply Chain Planning Team

OEM and Component Supplier Contract Terminology, Negotiation and Score Carding
Support of the Advanced Sourcing Process
Daily entry and control of purchase orders
Supplier and Part Master Data Accuracy
Payment Terms, Supplier Sourcing and Total Cost Improvement

Contract and Business Relationship Management
Working with YETI Leadership establish/improve YETI
Purchasing Terms and Conditions and overall OEM Product, Component and Service Contract structure
Execute Product Pricing and Supply Chain negotiations
Act as a point of escalation for supplier issue resolution
Develop and oversee the chargeback process and root cause improvement
Establish and manage supplier score carding practices that are linked to the business award process
Work with the Supply Chain Team to establish the Inbound
Compliance program and implement this within the Supplier Base
Negotiate and administer supplier contracts including volume discounting and rebate structures
Advanced Sourcing Support
Participate in the sourcing of new products by confirming early in the supplier selection process that the proper business and contract terms are structured within all initial discussions
Participate in all “Should Cost Modeling” aspects of New Product Requests with the Advanced Sourcing and NPD Teams
Establish proper protocols and approval levels for the New Product Development Purchasing activities to include sample purchasing, spot service requirements and expedite procedures
With the Packaging and Printing materials Advanced Sourcing Agents, assist in the packaging and printed material design of all new products
Purchase Order Process Control
Oversee the Purchase Order Entry and Request For Quotation processes and establish system accuracy / performance metrics
Validate that all supplier and part/product master data is set up in ERP system accurately and timely
Ensure the proper approval levels are followed and the matrix approval process functionality to ensure on time approvals
Make Certain that all INCO Terms are aligned with the overall YETI strategy and asset management requirements
Working with the Accounting Team, measure each month end accounts payable process and drive projects to achieve 0 unpayable invoices
Total Cost Improvement
Establish “Should Cost Modeling” templates and procedures and implement with all current and future contracts
Drive payment terms improvement per leadership direction
Establish “Total Cost” sourcing and supplier improvement program driving improvements in piece price, freight cost, warranty cost, direct sourcing, quality and design improvements
Initiate Quote Packages for mature products and components and negotiate cost improvements
Track all relevant indexes and use information to target improvements and to deflect cost increases
Skill Set Requirements

Strong communication, prioritization, organizational and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
Moderate PC skills – Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated contract, payment terms and INCO terms negotiation skills
Demonstrated supply chain improvement capabilities
SAP Purchasing system knowledge a plus
Educational and Previous Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required
APICS or CPM certification preferred
10+ years of Purchasing Management experience in a fast paced environment
Premium consumer product experience (Apparel, Soft Goods, Hard Goods preferred)
Experience and knowledge of “Should Cost Modeling” processes
Demonstrated experience in managing over $100 Mil in purchase volume across multiyear agreement structures
Demonstrated experience in negotiation yielding strong total cost improvements while also strengthening the supply chain
Experience in purchasing from Asia, Europe and Latin America
Lean experience (preferably Swim Lane mapping & PFMEA)
