ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The candidate will assist Suns in-house intellectual property lawyers with (1) review and analysis of technology license agreements, (2) patent filings and copyright registrations, and (3) general litigation support. This position will require contact with Suns multiple product groups, including senior management and high level technical representatives.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Involvement in law school diversity program a plus, but not required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Engineering or technical background is required. The candidate must be willing to work in a fast paced environment and multi-tasking mode. Must also be able to work independently, with little administrative support. Word processing and organizational skills critical. Good verbal and written communication skills a must. Must have completed at least 1 year of law school by June 1, 2009, and cannot have graduated at the time of the internship.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
The candidate must have excellent writing and analytical skills, as well as an interest in intellectual property law and litigation. Coursework in intellectual property law a plus.
