2009 Associate Channel Manager Intern![]() Title 2009 Associate Channel Manager Intern AutoReqId 4025BR Job Description At General Mills Bakeries & Foodservice, the relationships we build with our customers are what drive our business. As an Associate Channel Manager Intern, you will combine your marketing expertise with our championship brands to provide significant value for our customers. Your Responsibilities Include the Following Types of Projects: .Leadership: Aid cross-functional teams in the development and execution of marketing plan strategies- including promotions, customer focused marketing materials, and strategic selling support. Communicate annual plans and performance objectives internally and externally. . Channel Specific Marketing: Develop appropriate product, corporate and account specific promotions. Provide input on advertising and PR communications. . Innovation: Commercialize division-wide new products and innovations - including the development of national sales materials and customer specific presentations. Collaborate across the division to develop new product platform strategies and pipeline. . New Product Development: Identify new channel specific product opportunities and lead a cross-functional team to develop and launch. Manage the package development process, including initiation of the request and overall project management. . Forecasting, Volume Tracking, and Budgeting: Forecast volume for assigned product categories and communicate at monthly operations meetings. Regularly track performance of assigned product categories and/or customers and analyze data for problems, opportunities and trends. Help manage the budget including tracking spending versus plan. Your Career Development: As an intern, you will have 12 weeks of project work, as well as coaching, mentoring, and training & development. If you join us as a full-time Associate Channel Manager, you will regularly rotate across 7 different business units within Bakeries & Foodservice. At General Mills, we promote from within and view our rotational programs as training our next generation of senior executives. This rotational program begins right away with rotations as an Associate Channel Manager across 3 different assignment types: . Customer-Focused . Product-Focused . Channel-Focused Interview Expectations: Throughout your career in General Mills Bakeries and Foodservice division, you will be managing cross-functional teams and must be able to adapt in a changing environment. Therefore, we look for the following attributes in our new Associate Channel Managers: . Passion for building and maintaining relationships with customers .
