2009 Consumer Insights Associate Intern![]() Title 2009 Consumer Insights Associate Intern AutoReqId 3978BR Job Description Consumer Insights is General Mills marketing research function. We strongly believe that one of the keys to outperforming our competition is by having a superior understanding of the consumer. Consumer Insights are applied to a wide variety of issues and opportunities such as: -Developing innovative new products -Developing effective advertising -Creating and testing consumer and trade promotions -Improving product features and benefits to deliver added value -Renovating mature brands with meaningful differentiation from competing products As a Consumer Insight Associate Intern, your expertise will be applied to a number of these opportunities, culminating with a presentation of key insights and recommendations on a focus project. You Will Work With: -Marketing -Research and Development -Operations -Packaging -Art Services -Nutrition -Sales -Finance -Law -Research supply firms -Consultants -Advertising agencies Consumer Insights Intern Assignments: Intern roles emphasize direct involvement with the cross-functional team. The Consumer Insights Associate Intern is a full business partner whose role is to offer consumer-based strategic and tactical guidance. Contribute to Key Decisions: At General Mills, the Consumer Insights function contributes by building intuition and improving decision-making providing insights and strategic opportunities - rather than just numbers - from which marketing decisions are made. Since the Consumer Insights role is to represent the voice of the consumer, the function is very externally focused, which ensures that brands and products will be understood in the appropriate context. Your Development: Through formal and informal events throughout the summer you will have access to - and learn from - world-class managers and market research professionals at all levels in our organization. All interns are invited to attend The Champions Speaker Series, which provides an overview of General Mills businesses and strategies. You will also have the opportunity to meet and network with other General Mills Interns and full-time employees. Qualification Degrees Preferred: MBA or Masters degree in Marketing Research, Statistics, Mathematics, or Psychology State/City MN - Minneapolis |
