EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Masters or Ph.D.  Microbiology/Food Microbiology;
At least 8 years of Research and Development microbiology experience in foods and beverages;
Broad, in-depth background/experience in microbiology and food safety;
Broad technical understanding of food science, packaging, processing, quality systems and manufacturing;
Demonstrated people management and team leadership experience;
Project leadership experience managing complex projects and priorities;
Experience in beverage industry desirable; and
Experience integrating research findings into product applications.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Pepsi-Cola Technology Preservation Research Fellow will coordinate cross-functional research program focused on beverage preservation technology.
The Pepsi-Cola Technology Preservation Research Fellow will leverage technical, project management and organizational expertise to develop and manage project plans required for research program.
The Pepsi-Cola Technology Preservation Research Fellow will lead a diverse set of resources in overcoming technical and business hurdles.  Also,
coordinates Research and Development resources and external research focused on short and long term preservation technology objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Plans, coordinates and executes preservation technology program;
Establishes preservation program objectives, work plan and manages annual budget;
Coordinates Microbiology and other Research and Development resources focused on preservation technology research;
Effectively integrates with other functions in the organization to develop and drive preservation technology objectives;
Effectively leverages/integrates external research organizations to deliver preservation program objectives;
Identifies, investigates and effectively executes innovative preservation technology opportunities;
Communicates effectively program objectives, strategies and updates to senior management;
Maintain active involvement and leverage/influence external scientific organizations and memberships; and
Challenges and leads others to generate new approaches/ideas to address challenging and pervasive business and research opportunities.
