26963 Machine Designer II![]() 26963 Machine Designer II Requisition ID 26963 Full/Part Time Location Maple Grove, MN Description The purpose of this position is to assist the Equipment Engineering department in the design, manufacture, documentation, and continuous improvement of equipment and tooling for the production of medical devices. 1. Review work requests and additional engineering documentation with Project Leaders or Requestor for project understanding, and make recommendations to improve equipment designs. 2. Enter all design information into the database. 3. Prioritize and track all assigned projects in the tracking database and monitor project schedule and scope changes to assure team meets delivery requirements. 4. High mechanical aptitude to proficiently create parts and assemblies using computer aided design software 5. Create detailed drawings and/or Bills of Material (B.O.M.s). 6. Verify and validate detailed drawings, B.O.M.s, and/or software for accuracy and design intent with Project Leaders or Requestors. 7. Create purchase requisitions and/or other departmental requests to order and have equipment components built. 8. Coordinate the arrival of equipment components to meet equipment build requirements. 9. Clarify designs and/or correct "redline" markups with other departmental groups. 10. Assess the feasibility of manufacture, fabrication, or utilization of designed and ordered components. 11. Archive all documentation utilizing the electronic data management system or the departmental file storage location. 11. Translate older "legacy" files to newer "primary" software package. 12. Reference current supplier and vendor information when making equipment component recommendations and improvements. 13. Perform project leadership role on moderately complex design projects. 14. Capable of interpreting models and identify potential design issues prior to creation of parts. 15. Effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms. 16. Self motivated individual with ability to lead smaller scale fixture design projects. Typical minimum education and experience: Associates Degree in Computer Aided Technologies or equivalent. 5+ years design experience and 3+ years technical experience. Machine Design experience required. Solidworks experience preferred. |
