Sr Commodity Manager![]() Sr Commodity Manager Requisition 64133 Category Material Mgt and Purchasing Business Cardiac Rhythm Disease Mgmt Division CRDM Global Sourcing Location USA-MN-Mpls-Mounds View Relocation Relocation eligibility to be determined Job Type Full Time - Regular Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt Shift First Travel Percentage 25 - 50% Experience Required 10+ years Education Required Bachelor of Business Admin Position Description Provide leadership of Commodity Managers across CRDM and of cross functional commodity teams. Efforts include negotiating, establishing strategic supply agreements, and building strong relationships with key direct material suppliers. Responsibility for developing Strategic Commodity Plans that will include Quality, Cost reduction, Technology Road Map, Cycle Time, Supplier Risk initiatives. Commodity Manager will work with Technical Sourcing Specialists to participate in product design core teams and value engineering teams. Drive focus on risk mitigation, cost reduction, and long term strategic relationships with suppliers. Position Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of commodity strategies that include cycle/response time, strategies to meet 25% total cost reduction goal, continuous improvement in quality. Ownership of supplier agreements or contracts. Lead value engineering projects as the Sourcing Representative. Lead identification of supplier risks and work with the cross function team to develop robust risk mitigation plans. Basic Qualifications KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION - Bachelors Degree (preferably in supply chain, engineering, operations, business administration) and 15+ years of experience. JOB EXPERIENCE - Prior Management experience, contract management, project management and negotiation skills. 5+ years business experience in a highly technical & regulated environment Previous participation in cross functional teams. Prior leadership experience in forming and maintaining strategic sourcing relationships. Desired/Preferred Qualifications Strong leadership, time management, organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including influence skills in a matrix organization. Cross functional team leadership experience Strong negotiating skills and contract management skills. Willingness to travel International sourcing experience. Experience in a virtual or matrix organization.
