Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, procures, prepares, packages, and distributes prescription drugs and pharmaceutical supplies. Collaborates with nurses to establish drug administration schedules for patients. Ensures emergency carts/boxes are fully stocked and medications have not expired. Manufactures and prepares sterile products. Prepares billing statements and processes patient credits and payments. Maintains required record-keeping. Maintains an established inventory of commonly used supplies. All products prepared or manufactured by a Pharmacy Technician must be verified by a Pharmacist prior to use or issue. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent. Certification (or eligibility) as a pharmacy technician by completion of an accredited technician training program or current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy. Individuals not meeting this requirement may be hired contingent on achieving certification within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications IV experience preferred.
