Principal Duties & Responsibilities: . Performs routine duties under general supervision that require some judgment when communicating with customers and company personnel; refers unusual or more complex situations to a more experienced customer service specialist or lead specialist . Provides thorough and accurate responses to customer requests/inquiries received via Internet, phone, document, etc.; communicates with customers orally; composes and/or generates letters to request information or confirm action taken; communicates customer needs and complaints to management to provide information for improving training and overall service levels; reviews data for accuracy and completeness; enters data while maintaining established service/productivity levels and meeting quality guidelines; communicates accurate information about guidelines and regulations to participants, associates, accounts, and others within worldwide headquarters . Performs other related duties as required Education & Experience: . High school graduate or equivalent and one year of work-related experience or equivalent education and experience Note: Individuals selected for this position are trained in the customer service specialist I position, specialist 1 band and segment; then promoted, following successful completion of training to the customer service specialist II position, specialist 2 band and segment. Job Knowledge & Skills: . Typing Skills: 26 wpm/85% accuracy . Basic knowledge of Aflacs products/services . Basic knowledge of Aflacs systems . Strong telephone, customer service, and grammar skills . Good math skills . Strong oral and written communication skills .
