Job description Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with hardware engineers to bring up cellular baseband component
2. Be expert in responsible areas, e.g. RF, Audio, Bootloader, Power management.
3. Provide input to management on work estimate, schedule and risks.
4. Provide feedback on hardware schematics to hardware counterparts
5. Provide software feature requirements to baseband vendors
6. Advise management on options of solutions to critical issues
7. Work with vendors closely on silicon driver issues
8. Deliver on time under extremely aggressive schedule
9. Be held responsible for the quality of deliverables
Qualifications:
1. More than 5 years of experience working with device drivers in embedded environment. The drivers are but not limited to UART/USB/SPI, audio, NAND, RF, GPIO and bootloader.
2. Strong knowledge and expertise on embedded real-time OS.
3. Experience with embedded debugging tools like JTAG and ICE.
4. Ability to understand hardware schematics and provide feedback to hardware engineers
5. Able to work closely with hardware engineers on board bringup and troubleshooting
6. Experience with power management and familiar with common power reduction techniques
7. Ability to make technical tradeoffs between performance, resources and power usage
8. knowledge on cellular technologies such as GSM, UMTS, CDMA and EVDO
9. Successfully delivered commercial cell phone or smartphone products
10. Able to work under tight schedule and deliver on time
11. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
12. Able to collaborate with peers and mentor interns
13. A nice team player and able to deal with conflicts
