GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for performing a variety of jobs in packaging.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Obtains labels from warehouse, codes as directed, reboxes until needed, and takes label to labeling area as needed.
Helps set up blast area at beginning of shift.
Places and centers proper label or sticker on each product.
Keeps a straight product flow along conveyors.
Helps stack product at freezer, if necessary.
Inspects product, rejects or repairs, as necessary.
Sets-up and operates accessory equipment (i.e. bagger, tie machine).
Opens reseals and inspects product.
Obtains correct number and type of box according to production schedule, and prepares for packers.
Weighs and records product case weights, as assigned.
Closes, tapes and applies designated stickers to master case, assures accurate count of cases and places on conveyor to palletizing area.
Stacks boxes on pallet if conveyor system is down.
Fills cartons in carton machine and keeps record of number used.
Records amount of waste, as directed.
Checks metal detectors to insure proper operation.
Notifies lead or supervisor of equipment malfunction or ingredient/material problems.
Performs all duties in accordance with USDA, company policy, GMPs and established procedures.
Maintains a clean work area.
Performs other work, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Years of Related Experience: One year related experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have satisfactory current job performance. Must have satisfactory job history. Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs.
