Hiring Manager Title Sr Mgr IS
Responsibilities
* Support and manage complex programs, modules, routines, scripts and data objects from a detailed design where efficiency, performance and reliability affect our mission critical applications.
* Work on large development projects to develop, modify or enhance WMS applications to help achieve IS (stable systems, Run, Grow and Transform) and business (30x10) goals.
* Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of Staples retail business/system processes.
* Develop application documentation that will follow Staples IS best practices. This will include technical documentation as well as testing and implementation planning documents.
* Compliance with IS standards, policies and procedures (SDLC).
* Provide technical leadership with development and support initiatives
* Embrace and apply new technologies as needed.
* Work with change management, WMS/WHS team and business partners to provide updates on quarterly release projects.
* Provide support for our onshore/offshore IS Support team. (Cognizant)
Qualifications
* Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience.
* Exceptional leadership, listening and communication skills
* Ability to work both independently (self-starter and proactive) and as a member of a team.
* Ability to multitask and prioritize issues under pressure
* Solid understanding of Retail Distribution Operations and WMS Systems
* Strong ability to influence without having direct authority.
* Excellent project management and organizational skills (Understanding of SDLC processes).
* Sound communication skills (with internal team members and external business partners)
* Experience working with and implementing packaged software applications including:
* EXE/Informix
* AS400
* Broad understanding of one or more of the following:
* networking concepts: Performance Analysis, Database Management
* operating systems: Windows 2000/2003, Unix, EXE/Informix , AS400
* database technologies: SQL, DB2, Oracle, 4GL, RPG

* Ability to design, understand or write code, and test components within 4GL framework. SQL scripting required.
* Possesses and exudes extraordinary optimism
* 5 to 7 years of technical working experience required.
* Provide operations and production support.
