Sr. ISSO![]() Req ID 26200BR Title Sr. ISSO Location AM-USA-DC Washington DC Metro Area Job Duties and Responsibilities Performs a variety of network/system administration and infrastructure designs, work group manager functions, Video Teleconferencing Systems control, Communications Security (COMSEC) and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) roles for a Department of Defense Major Command customer facility and Command subordinate agencies. Duties include, but are not limited to: network/system configuration and management, system administration and related computer/network problems experienced by the customer. Responsible for system account creation/deletion, anti-virus protection, software upgrades, and system/network security related incidents. Will perform all ISSO duties and functions such as: development of system security plans (SSP), reviewing subordinate agencies SSPs, accreditation and certification of operating systems/networks, configuration management, media accountability and control, conducting/reviewing system audits, receipting all classified and non classified information media/data and system equipment entering/leaving the facility, system labeling and processing procedures, evaluating threats and vulnerabilities against systems/networks, development and implementing activities to counter vulnerabilities and threats. Will maintain a COMSEC account and related equipment configuration and management. Will maintain all Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) accountability and control. Will be responsible for making independent decisions within network/system security guidelines with regard to control of classified data processing; and receiving direction from the government Program Security Officer, Program Security Manager, and Program Manager. Background with special programs and SCI a plus. Have a good working knowledge of network administration, management, and configuration. Working knowledge of communications security and information systems security. Must demonstrate oral and written communication skills as well organizational and time management abilities. Should be familiar with the NISPOM Overprint, DCID 6/3, JAFAN 6/3, Joint DODIIS/Cryptologic SCI Information Systems Security Standards, NTISSAM TEMPEST 2-95, and AFI 33 series. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Position will be moving to Bowling, AFB Degrees None Majors None Position Type FT Shift 1 - Day Major Job Function Interfaces directly with clients to identify requirements and generate new business. Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the solution of security environment requirements and problems. Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant pro-jects, coordinating the efforts of technical and support staff in the performance of assigned duties. Reviews information systems secu-rity environments to include all aspects of physical, technical and administrative security issues. Develops client-specific informa-tion system risk-management alter-natives and implementation plans. Provides information system secu-rity training to other employees and performs oversight of all task-specific activities such as docu-ment preparation, writing, metho-dologies, etc. Evaluates govern-ment and commercial policies, manuals, regulations and other documents for relevance to information security management issues and ongoing efforts. Provides work leadership to lower level employees. Performs other duties, as assigned. |
