Telecommunications Technical Support Technician![]() Telecommunications Technical Support Technician Job Reference Number XX68741 Country USA State Iowa City Des Moines Business Unit Project/Program Management Specialty Job Description Provide on-site customer (ING) support for core voice and data (LAN, WAN, Wireless) devices including Routers, LAN Switches, Content Switches and Wireless Access Points. Provide on-site customer (ING) support for existing Voice PBX/VoIP platforms including traditional TDM PBX systems, Avaya and un-PBX systems, traditional TDM digital phones Avaya and trunking, VoIP systems Avaya/Cisco and trunking, NICE Call logging and CC adjunct systems (e.g., CMS, ACD), Video Conferencing infrastructure (e.g., end points, bridge) and Audio Visual,custom room systems. Support functions will include: Break Fix, IMACs (in conjunction with field support team), performance analysis, Troubleshooting, fulfillment of service requests (user or IT driven), local site projects (e.g., lifecycle management, HW upgrades), system reports, Local platform / Voice switch programming, coordination with LEC / telco providers, voice platform and related backups, and tape maintenance and rotation. Requirements Position requires a broad range of skills within the Telecommunications support to effectively perform complex assignments; demands familiarity with telecommunications principles, theories, concepts and technologies as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices. Generally requires a BS degree, or equivalent, and 7+ years experience in a related field. PMP, ITIL, and/or Cisco certifications are highly desirable. |
